Everyone seems to be just not into the holiday season this year. (or is it just me?) I'm not sure if it is because of our unseasonably warm winter we're having (no complaints here!) or is it just that everyone has all the 'stuff' they need already.
That's the problem in our house. 'Stuff'. It's everywhere. I'm tripping over toys, stepping on lego and have toy boxes overflowing with 'stuff' they don't even look at. I am at the point where I am tired of 'stuff'.
If you're like me, here are a few ideas for gifts that may help you out and may get you into the spirit.
1) Give the gift of experience - Whether it be concert tickets, a vacation, or something fun like zip lining they will appreciate the experience, the time together, the memories made more than one more thing to add to the pile.
2) Give the gift of philanthropy - Adults may appreciate this gift more than little ones. Donate to a cause on their behalf. There are many worthwhile causes in the world, nationally and locally too from the food bank to SPCA I'm sure there is something that person is passionate about and would love the sentiment. There are ways for little ones to benefit from this too - right now you can adopt an animal through WWF and they will send you child a little stuffy of that animal (find more info here) - super cute.
3) Give something to get them active - Either get their mind active or their bodies active. A new sled, snowshoes, ice fishing rod, art supplies, music lessons, dance classes - something that will benefit them for more than right now.
